Founded in 1946 by Ed Imperatore with just one crane, the Imperatore Corporation has grown into one of the most capable and comprehensive industrial contractors in the Northeast. From steel erection, crane rentals, steel fabrication and rigging services, Imperatore Corporation provides a multitude of industrial services to our customers. Now, with over 70 years of experience, Imperatore has the flexibility that allows us to deliver turnkey services to our customers when they need it most.
From our humble beginnings out of a one bay shop to our new 20 acre 20,000 square foot facility, our vision hasn't changed. It's our ambition to provide our customers the best possible service, every time.
A Tribute to Our Founder
Edward J. Imperatore
January 20, 1922 - September 9, 2016
In 2016, we said goodbye and thank you to our founder, Edward Imperatore. Ed began the Imperatore Corporation in 1946 at the age of 24 with commitment, hard work, and a single piece of equipment. We want to thank Edward for his dedication and compassion for the industry, his business and his employees over the last seven decades. His vision and work posisitoned Imperatore to become one of the most distinguished organizations in New England. Edward leaves behind a lasting impression on his family, the people who worked with him, and the state of Rhode Island. He is deeply missed by all.
1946
Edward Imperatore, age 24, founded Imperatore Steel Erectors Inc with his first crane.
1961
Imperatore continues to build the city of Providence, erecting the Providence Bonanza Bus Terminal.
1987
Imperatore dismantles the 542 piece WW1 Memorial. Phase one of the relocation project.
1995
Imperatore successfully relocates and erects WWI Monument at Union Station, Providence, RI.
2007
Imperatore Crane operators and riggers respond to emergency aircraft recovery at TF Green Airport.
2016
Imperatore is contracted to assist with the construciton of the Block Island Airport expansion project.
EQUIPMENT
Imperatore is known for its expertly maintained state-of-the-art late model equipment. All of our equipment is inspected and tested to applicable OSHA standards, and our cranes are 3rd party certified to exceed OSHA requirements and provide you extra peace of mind. Cranes, aerial lifts, and material handling equipment are available in different sizes and capacities. We have multiple units in each category, so you can be assured that the equipment you need will be available when you need it.
Certified manbaskets, forklift booms, boscaro self dumping bins, scale pans, spreader bars, pallet forks - you name it, we have it.

We believe every accident is preventable, and it is our people, their training and experience that make the difference and allow Imperatore to continue to be an industry leader.
A culture of safety generated by over 65 years of experience is built into each project. All of our employees are rigorously trained and hold a variety of the following certifications: OSHA 10 Certification, OSHA Forklift Certification, OSHA Qualified Rigger, OSHA Qualified Signal Person, CCO Certified Operators, MSHA Certification, MULTI State Holding Licenses, and OSHA Subpart R.
